2019 State Student Advisory Council - Colorado Community College System/ 2019
The State Student Advisory Council (SSAC) is comprised of students elected by each of the established student governments from across the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). SSAC is charged with advising the State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education on matters of interest and concern to all CCCS students.
SSAC Represents over 137,000 students on the state level. They have the power to pass bills that affect community college students on the state level.
Emanuel now also sits on the STATE BOARD FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND OCCUPATIONAL EDUCATION (SBCCOE).
Quote from Emanuel Walker " There is someone out there right now, looking for an outlet, dying to speak up, but they often go unheard. There are over 137,000 students in the Colorado Community College System, and I hope to represent the students who may believe their voice has no power. I stand with the minority community and I vow to be the vessel that is their representation and the microphone that is their voice. " - Emanuel Walker

When asked how he might sum up the key thing that the NSLS does, founder Gary Tuerack shared, "We are dream supporters – we build leaders, support people in achieving their dreams, and better the world in the process. We get people to ask the all-important question, 'What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?' and then help them to achieve those goals."
